The speech dialler or autodialler as it's sometimes known is a popular "self monitoring" option.
The speech dialler is the ideal companion for virtually any alarm control panel as it provides additional protection, rather than relying on the outside siren to attract attention.

When the alarm is triggered, the dialler will ring a combination of up to four different numbers (including mobile phones) to alert people you know and trust so they can investigate appropriately.
The unit stores up to four pre-recorded messages which can be used to warn of different situations, e.g. Burglary, Personal Attack, Fire etc.
On receiving the message the person acknowledges the call by pressing the '8' button on their telephone and then takes appropriate action. If the call is not answered or acknowledged, for example if the mobile is switched off or the call goes to an answering machine, the dialler simply aborts the call and dials the next number.
The speech dialler is connected between the alarm control panel and the line and it behaves just like any other telephone and does not affect the normal operation of any other extensions fitted.
Another model is available that can handle up to eight telephone numbers and will also send SMS Text Messages and can be programmed remotely by VERA.
