The external siren, or bellbox as it's known, is one of the most important parts of the system because it provides the best advert possible that the premises are alarmed. Many bellboxes are functional but seriously lack the credibility factor when it comes to actually putting off burglars from breaking in. For example, an 'old looking' box with jaded looks, no company signage or flashing comfort lights can actually make it look as though it's a dummy box. Please see the Home Office Crime Campaign Advert below.
Our external sirens come with flashing red “comfort LED’s” even visible by day to indicate these are live boxes and provide an excellent deterrent to would be burglars. After dark these high visiblity warning lights are even more effective. Also they flash all the time so you cannot tell whether the system is set or not.

Our external sirens are of high quality and have a neat unfussy appearance with a choice of horizontal or vertical variants which are identical in specification - you simply choose the one that looks best for your property.
If the siren is to be mounted at stepladder height for example on a bungalow or ground floor flat then we strongly recommend the “armoured” version – identical in appearance but underneath the front cover all of the components are fully protected under a heavy duty, strong sheet steel box. In addition this version also comes with an additional siren module to increase the sound output which would be desirable if nearby houses are some distance away.
Also our telephone number features prominently to assist passers-by, or neighbours who are not keyholding for you, to get in touch with us. If you have a current Maintenance Agreement and have registered your contact numbers with us we will ring you in the event we receive such a call.

On the lower edge of the bellbox is the strobe light. This activates along with the siren to attract attention. If the alarm is not switched off it will automatically re-arm itself and although the siren will stop, the strobe light continues on until a code is entered and the system is reset. If you return to your property and the strobe light is flashing this means there has been an activation while you have been out. In addition, some control panels have the ability to flash the strobe light six or so times as a confirmation that the system has set correctly.
As a policy we don't fit dummy boxes where we have not fitted an alarm system - if you see one of our boxes - there is a genuine alarm installed !
